The intention is to provide an event for graduate and PhD students, scientists and industrial researchers from around the word that are interested in aspects of computer vision, image analysis or processing, imaging methods, or pattern recognition with a clear mathematical focus of their research.

The workshop is organized in two blocks: three days of tutorials and courses delivered by international experts and two days of contributed and peer-reviewed presentations. The workshop provides a networking opportunity for students to interact with their peers, and to make contacts among those who will be the active researchers of their own generation.

The FORMAT
The workshop offers the best of an academic event to participants: high-quality lectures on relevant topics of image sciences, and state of the art conference-type presentations.

  • Three days of tutorials/courses of 3-4 hours each.
  • Doctoral consortium with a poster session for postdoctoral students showing their advances and interacting with researchers for advices.
  • The lecture notes of the six tutorials/courses will be available in electronic format.

The lectures are presented by invited recognized academics; meanwhile the conference-style papers are peer-reviewed contributions:

  • Two days of sessions of peer-reviewed contributions, 25 min each.
  • The papers are planed to be published in a volume of Springer’s LNCS. That implies a rigorous peer-review process

The PURPOSE
The Workshop on MMIS is planned to be a forum for students, academics and industrial researchers interested in the principles and advances of new trends in mathematical foundations of image sciences. Lectures during the workshop by academic researchers present state of the art research fields in image-science mathematical methods.
